Assessment of the Use of Renewable Energy Sources for the Charging Infrastructure of Electric Vehicles

    Get PDF
Application of renewable energy sources is a relevant area of energy supply for urban infrastructure. In 2019, the share of energy produced by such sources reached 11% (for solar energy) and 22% (for wind energy) of the total energy produced during the year. However, these systems require an improvement in their efficiency that can be achieved by introducing electric vehicles. They can accumulate, store and transfer surplus energy to the city’s power grid. A solution to this problem is a smart charging infrastructure. The existing studies in the field of charging infrastructure organization for electric vehicles consider only models locating charging stations in the city or the calculation of their required number. These calculations are based on socio-economic factors and images of a potential owner of an electric vehicle. Therefore, the aim of this study is to develop a methodology for determining the location of charging stations and their required number. The calculation will include the operating features of the existing charging infrastructure, which has not been done before. Thus, the purpose of this article is to research the operation of the existing charging infrastructure. This will provide an opportunity to develop approaches to the energy supply of charging infrastructure and city’s power grid from renewable energy sources. The article presents an analysis of data on the number of charging sessions during the year, month and day. This data enable us to construct curves of the charging session number and suggest ways to conduct the next stages of this study. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2020-01251 Full Text: PD

The development of the electric bus fleet, observed in the world and, in particular, in the Russian Federation, leads to the emergence of new scientific and practical problems that need to be addressed. So, at present, when electric buses are put into operation, in practice, problems arise with the choice of a rational urban regular route and the organization of charging infrastructure on it. To solve this problem, you need to know the power consumption of an electric bus, which depends on the operating conditions. This article analyzes scientific research in the field of modeling electricity consumption by an electric bus. Such an analysis and study of the experience of operating an electric bus in Tyumen made it possible to single out the factors on which electricity consumption depends. In the course of the study, a hypothesis was formulated: the factors characterizing the operating conditions on the route can be taken into account by one indicator «speed of communication». At the same time, until now, no direct influence of the ambient temperature on the power consumption of an electric bus has been revealed. Therefore, the aim of the study is to study the effect of traffic speed and ambient temperature on the electricity consumption of an electric bus on a regular urban route. To achieve this goal, a passive experiment was carried out, during which data was obtained on the functioning of electric buses, the technical parameters of the charging stations and the ambient temperature. To test the hypothesis, the initial amount of experimental information was processed using statistical data processing methods. It was found that a decrease in the speed of communication causes an increase in the consumption of electricity by an electric bus. During the analysis of the influence of the ambient air temperature on the considered output parameter, it was revealed that when it deviates from the value equal to + 4 °C, an increase in the consumption of electricity by the electric bus is observed. As a result, the established regularities of the influence of the speed of communication and the ambient air temperature on the electricity consumption of an electric bus and their mathematical models will become the basis for further research for the development of a methodology for rationing electricity consumption by an electric bus on a regular city route

The instability and uncertainty of international relations accentuate the role of new and inclusive platforms of interaction and cooperation. Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) alongside its regional and transregional partners represent an example of such a platform based on new principles and values, an element of international relation configuration.Aim. Assess the prospects for a zone (cluster) within the planned and potential transregional EEU’s expansion beyond the CIS borders.Task. To evaluate the dynamics of the consolidation concerning, first, current free trade EEU agreements (FTAs or the EEU FTAs) with Serbia, Iran, Vietnam  and Singapore,  second,  potential  agreements with listed in the EEU official strategy, third, other developing states with relevant economic and/or demographic potential.Methods. The authors use additional consolidation (share of intra-bloc trade) as a metric. It is calculated as the difference between the share of EEU intra-trade and within the existing or potential EEU FTA partnerships.Results. Based on the assessment of additional consolidation, the research revealed that the existing EEU FTAs with Iran and Vietnam are effective, while trade integration with Serbia, Singapore and China are ineffective. The presence of additional consolidation was revealed for Turkey, Egypt, and Bangladesh.Conclusions. The implementation of the transregional integration track is an important development step for the Eurasian Economic Union. However, trade partnerships have different trade efficiency

Morphology of the rat’s brain in four vessels model of ischemic stroke after administration of carbamylated darbepoetin

The aim was the study of the cerebroprotective effect of carbamylated darbepoetin in a four-vessel model of rat brain ischemia-reperfusion. A massive preconditioning cerebroprotective effect of carbamylated darbepoetin in the fourth group of animals and massive ischemic changes of the hippocampal and cortical neurons in the third group were revealed. These were manifested by karyopyknosis, karyorrhexis, and violation of stratification of CA1-CA3 layers of the hippocampu

Intravenous ibandronate reduces the incidence of skeletal complications in patients with breast cancer and bone metastases

Background: This phase III study compared the efficacy of the new potent bisphosphonate, ibandronate, with placebo as intravenous (i.v.) therapy in metastatic bone disease due to breast cancer. Patients and methods: A total of 466 patients were randomised to receive placebo (n = 158), or 2 mg (n = 154) or 6 mg (n = 154) ibandronate every 3-4 weeks for up to 2 years. The primary efficacy parameter was the number of 12-week periods with new bone complications, expressed as the skeletal morbidity period rate (SMPR). Bone pain, analgesic use and safety were evaluated monthly. Results SMPR was lower in both ibandronate groups compared with the placebo group; the difference was statistically significant for the ibandronate 6 mg group (P = 0.004 versus placebo). Consistent with the SMPR, ibandronate 6 mg significantly reduced the number of new bone events (by 38%) and increased time to first new bone event. Patients on ibandronate 6 mg also experienced decreased bone pain scores and analgesic use. Treatment with ibandronate was well tolerated. Conclusions: These results indicate that 6 mg i.v. ibandronate is effective and safe in the treatment of bone metastases from breast cance

Current Approaches to Demonstration of Therapeutic Equivalence of Locally-Acting Gastrointestinal Drugs

    Get PDF
Evolution of knowledge about pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of locally acting products, and an increase in the number of generics and medicines under development have laid the ground for the development of new scientific approaches to planning and conducting of therapeutic equivalence studies of medicinal products acting locally in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. To date, many international guidelines on planning and conducting of bioequivalence (BE) studies of locally acting GI products have been updated, however, there are still no such guidelines in the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Therefore, elaboration of common methodological approaches to the planning of clinical studies of these products is of particular relevance for the EAEU. The aim of the study was to analyse foreign approaches to planning, conducting, and evaluation of therapeutic equivalence studies of locally acting GI products. The paper analyses the guidelines of the European Medicines Agency and the US Food and Drug Administration on the planning, conduct, and evaluation of BE studies of locally acting GI products. The analysis demonstrated that BE clinical trials are giving way to in vitro studies providing a sensitive and accurate assessment of the differences between a locally acting GI product and the reference product, based on careful consideration of the medicine’s mechanism of action, dosage form, and site of action. The paper gives examples of test methods applied to medicinal products with a complex biopharmaceutical profile whose bioequivalence assessment is challenging, with a special focus on mesalazine products. The results of the analysis may be used for elaboration of a harmonised methodological approach to planning and conducting therapeutic equivalence studies of locally acting GI products in the Russian Federation and EAEU
